Bonnie "Prince" Billy is set to release his highly anticipated new album, titled "We Are Together Again," on March 6, 2026, under the No Quarter label. This marks his second album within a year, showcasing his continued creativity and dedication to music. The recording took place in Louisville, Kentucky, with the expertise of Jim Marlowe, who co-produced and engineered the album alongside Will Oldham, the artist behind the Bonnie "Prince" Billy moniker.
The lead single from this upcoming album is "They Keep Trying to Find You," which comes alive through an intriguing music video directed and choreographed by Abi Elliott. In a whimsical twist, Oldham transforms into a shaggy creature of the woods, engaging in an elaborate dance with a human character after a playful costume swap occurs.
In a recent press release, Oldham expressed his excitement about this project, noting, "This record was made closer to the Ohio River than any I’ve been involved with since 1993’s Palace Brothers 'There Is No-One What Will Take Care of You.' Every track showcases the rich musical community of both past and present in Louisville. Catherine Irwin, who previously contributed vocals on the BPB release 'Ease Down the Road,' returns to lend her voice on the tracks 'Hey Little' and 'Vietnam Sunshine.' Additionally, the talented trio of Lacey Guthrie, Tory Fisher, and Katie Peabody from the band Duchess harmonize beautifully on both the opening and closing songs, which serve as reflections on the formidable nature of fear.
This new work follows last year's "The Purple Bird," and features contributions from Oldham's current touring companions, including woodwind musician Jacob Duncan and multi-instrumentalist Thomas Deakin, along with appearances from Ryder McNair, Chris Bush, Ned Oldham, and Erin Hill.
